It has already been 11 years since the Delhi Metro was inaugurated. Delhi Metro has now become one of the most successful Delhi Government project and thousands of people commute in it daily. It is one of the first choices of public transport. The most and easy way to commute in Delhi Metro is Smart card, which saves you time and money both. Now DMRC has launched a new service where you can recharge your Smart Card Online, through your debit/Credit card, Net Banking, ATM etc.
Steps to Recharge Delhi Metro Smart Card Online
There are 2 ways you can recharge your Metro smart card online.
1. Quick TopUp.
2. By logging to the DMRC portal with your account.
Update: Now you can also recharge your metro smart card through payTM and many other similar websites.
1. Quick TopUp is the easiest method to recharge your Metro Smart card quickly and without login. In this method you just have to give your 10 digit Smart card number (EngravedId No.), recharge value and your working email id.
Just visit Delhi Metro Smart Card website and click on Quick TopUp as shown below.
Now you will see the form as shown below, here just enter your recharge amount, DMRC smart card number and your email id.
After entering all the details, click next and you will be shown payment option. Just choose your payment option and pay the amount. Currently you can make payment through Credit card, debit card, prepaid card and net banking. ICICI bank has partnered with DMRC to collect this payment.
2. Second is the traditional method and you will have to make your account in DMRC smart card website before recharge. For new Sign Up, visit Delhi Metro Smart Card website and click on New user.
After completing your registration you will get verification email in your mail box, just verify it and start recharging your metro card.
Now after verification login to your account and go to EServices and from here click on “recharge your card“. You will be shown above screen. Here just select your smart card number and put the recharge amount, rest payment procedure is same as explained above.
Note: You will have to go Add Value Machine (AVM) to complete your recharge. AVM is installed at selected Metro stations only near customer care office.
Now you can easily recharge your smart card online through DMRC new service, I know that this service will be very beneficial and convenient for all people traveling through Delhi Metro. I was waiting for DMRC to launch such service from long time.
